Name: Jeremy
Birthday: March 11, 2006

On March 11, 2006, little Jeremy was born at a hospital and later found abandoned on the eighth floor of the hospital. This precious little boy had many medical challenges ¨C a rare and dangerous umbilical polyp, hypospadias, a heart disease, a lung deformity, and undescended testes. Jeremy came to the foster home on October 26, 2006, and at the time, we did not know about his heart or lung problems, nor did we understand the severity of the umbilical polyp. The heart problem healed without surgery, but Jeremy needed 4 other surgeries to treat his other medical challenges. To look at him now, you wouldn't know that he has had such a long road! He is a happy mischievous little boy, and a source of much laughter in the foster home.

After surgery

Following a successful surgery to remove the umbilical polyp; Jeremy developed pneumonia and had to be admitted to the hospital. Tests were done and it was determined Jeremy also has:
1. Heart disease (VSD)
2. Hypospadia
3. Pulmonary sequestration (lung deformity)
December 26th Jeremy had surgery for his lung deformity. His left lung is only 1/3 rd normal size. There were some areas that weren't functioning that were removed. There was difficulty after surgery. The doctors were not sure if Jeremy would survive. But ten days later he was released from the hospital.

This precious little boy will need 2 more surgeries. (Heart surgery and hypospadia surgery)

March 6th, Jeremy was taken to Fuwai hospital to arrange his heart surgery. A sonogram was done and it showed that his ASD has almost completely closed. He most likely will not need heart surgery.
