New arrivals
Chloe is an albino from Inner Mongolia . It seems that she had never been outside and was kept with the CP children, which explains why she has many of their mannerisms. Her teeth had not been brushed in five years so you can imagine the condition they are in. She would scream every time she was in a new situation and even though she is five she wouldn't speak. Her paper work says that mentally she is well below normal. But amazingly she has been showing improvement every day in her development. Her screaming fits are getting less and she has begun to say a few words. With much more stimulation her eyesight is improving as well. We are so excited about the bright future that she has.
Check out these other new arrivals. Sarah, Melody, Zoe, Terry and Samantha

Surgeries
Recently six kids had surgery.

.Ruth ¨C had surgery for osteomyelitis (bone infection) which was complicated by her being allergic to most antibiotics. Glad to report that she is finally improving after 3 weeks in hospital.
. Sarah - very thin and weak with severe pneumonia and heart disease, has had surgery and is finally gaining weight.
. Justice & Kimberly had cleft palate surgery
. Charlie - had a huge abdominal hernia corrected. He still needs surgery for spinal bifida.
. Paul ¨C passed away 10 hours after his second heart surgery.

Alex was adopted!

The Hohot director is really on board with the formula project. He sees big health improvements in the children since beginning the program with 30 children under 1 year old. We hope to start a similar project in Taiyuan with 80 children there.

The children learn commerce at an early age. They sold their rabbits at the local market and bought snacks with their profits.
