August, 1, 2005 New Arrivals from a New Location New Arrivals from a New Location New arrivals from a new location - Samantha and Joanna have come to us all the way from Hohot, Inner Mongolia. Also Anna and Brooke are new arrivals who have come from Henan. All came in need of surgery and with the hope of finding a mom and dad. Since I last wrote you, three more children have had surgery. Brooke, Anna and Justice have all had their first surgery to repair their cleft lip and palate. Six new foster families have accepted training and opened up their loving homes and hearts to receive children. Two right here in Qingyundian (Beijing) and four at our new branch in Luoyang (Henan). Trinity, Isabelle, Kendra, Caleb, Cindy, Lizzy, Jerry & Susan are all blessed to have the opportunity to experience a real family. Two more kids have been adopted. Alena was the first child from a foster family to be adopted. Her foster father was able to travel with her back to her home town orphanage where he stayed with her till her new parents from overseas came to pick her up. Jacob was also adopted and we hear that he has adjusted very well. The kids have been blessed with many summer interns and groups who have come by to lend a helping hand. We have lots of great pictures of these friends in our scrapbook. We¡¯re located in a farming community and a local farmer blessed the children by inviting the kids to come and pick all the watermelons they wanted for free. I hope the kids did not over do it. The children also had the opportunity to check out the spring wheat harvest. You will want to see the pictures in the scrapbook. In order to raise public awareness of the plight of orphans, a group of famous Chinese photographers held a photo exhibition called, ¡°Mama, where are you?¡± Our kids were thrilled to participate in this event. We just added some new friends ¨C a goat, a chicken & a duck have joined the rabbits that we already had. The older children now have the responsibility of feeding the animal |
