Our little sprouts went to investigate all the new sprouts! Things are greening up in our village, and its the perfect time of year to teach kids about plants and how they grow. The preschool class ventured out into the surrounding farmland to inspect the new wheat crop and look for other signs of life. The kids learned about seeds, and how they turn into sprouts, and how eventually they can grow into something as big as a tree!

Wow! Look at the field! It won't be long before the plants are tall!
Sarah taught the children about wheat and how it eventually becomes bread. She showed them how the farmers plant the crop in straight rows.
Emily, Olivia, and Julia walking down the rows.

You mean this big tree once started out as a seed?!
Small trees can become big trees; just like small children become grown-ups!
Julia found a good perch on the tree's roots.

As the children walked, they gathered grains of corn that had fallen along the road. When we returned home, they fed the corn to our baby goats; the other kids in the house!
