| Our cafeteria was transformed into a beautiful party setting, thanks to the help of many volunteers. |
| Cooking the food was a team effort... a special thanks to the team visiting from ORU! |

As always, the BBQ Grill is a man's world. |
We had a bountiful feast when all was said and done! |
| Our children had a wonderful time getting to know many of the people who help make their lives better. From surgery sponsors to car and playground donors, we had many local guests join us who help make the dream of New Day Foster Home a reality. |

We spent the morning playing games as a group. |
We had a room where we played parachutes. |
Emily liked throwing the balloons on the parachute. |
Peter wasn't sure what we were doing. |
But Jeremy knew the best place to hide -- under the parachute! |
During the lunch, the visitors helped our kids enjoy the feast. |
Kids sat at each table, so that the guests could get to know them a little bit better. |
Everyone had so much to eat! From Peking (Roast) Duck to Sloppy Joes, it was truly a feast! |
| By the end of lunch, we had many full bellies! |

After we ate lunch, we had a special "Thank You" program for all of the guests. |
The children did a performance; singing
Chinese
children's songs. Cheryl showed what a smart girl she
is by repeating a challenging Chinese tongue-twister. |

The cake was a special treat -- layers of Chocolate, Tiramisu, and Vanilla! |
Representatives of the various organizations
joined us to cut the cake. |
After the cake and a special Slide Show, the kids were introduced to the fun of a Pinata. |
The Pinata was made by our preschool teacher and some helpers... |
...and it was in the shape of a ladybug! |
Everyone got a turn to hit the Pinata. |
| But after multiple tries, it quickly became clear that
we had made the world's toughest Pinata! |
Finally we managed to get it open... not with the stick, but with a knife. (Wielded, of course, by a grown-up.) |
When the kids realized
there really was candy
inside, it became a contest
to see who could get the
most! |
Savannah laid down on her belly and started sweeping her hands from side to side, gathering as much candy under her as she could! |
Others took a more reasonable approach... |
Luke managed to fill the bottom of his shirt with candy, tucking the bottom of his shirt over his stash, and then he darted around the room... trying to escape any possible candy thief.s

From the smiles we saw on everyone's faces at the end of the day, it was clear the event was a big success! |
