It's time for the winter wheat to be harvested! Our foster home is surrounded by farms, and many of them were filled with beautiful, golden wheat. The harvest has begun, and our children took a fieldtrip to watch the machinery at work.

Single file on the road! |
The combine up close. |
We had front row seats! |
All the kids loved the big equipment... |
But it especially fascinated
all the little boys. |
Is it loud, Savannah?
Emily watches the tractor drive by. |
Ben and Jeremy especially loved the big machines! |
Evan leans in for a closer look. |
Madeline likes her fingers more than the tractors. |
Annie sits with her nanny. |

Cheryl with her nanny. |
Cheryl found the flowers to be a bit more interesting than the combines. |

Annie |
What are you giving us, Peter? |
Luke, are your shoes supposed to be off? |
Can we get a little closer? |
The combine isn't close,
is it? |
Who needs a combine when you have our kids? We'll pick the wheat! |
Maybe Jeremy will be
a farmer someday. |
Cheryl liked eating the little kernals of wheat. |
Savannah gathered up lots of stalks that the combine missed. |
Jeremy thought it made
a great sword! |
Abigail |

| Julia picked wheat, flowers, and grass. |

Savannah went exploring. |

Luke ponders some
important questions. |
They finished the field! |

Adam joins the party. |
Liuyi comes out for the morning. |
Luke and Jeremy take turns riding the electric bicycle. |
Abigail finds something other than wheat to pick. |
The foster home's gate guard was helping with the harvest. He stopped the tractor so that all the kids could come get a closer look. |
Luke takes the wheel. |
Abigail looks like she
could handle this. |
Ben makes a perfect farmer. |
Are those wheels as tall as you Julia? |
Move over Luke, it's Julia's turn to take the wheel! |

Savannah and Julia catching a ride home. |
Make a wish! |
Goodbye Farmers! Thanks for letting us watch you work! |
