The Fourth of July, though an American holiday. was cause for celebration here at our foster home. The children made special hats, and then were given little trumpets to blow and homemade flags and sparklers to wave. Then they paraded through all of the New Day offices. Later on in the day, some of the older kids got to join the rest of New Day for a 4th of July Party, complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, and rice krispie treats.

The procession begins.
Get in line everyone!
Ben, Olivia, and Adah wait for the party.
Ben blows his trumpet heartily!
Felicity puts on her hat... and takes it off.
Jeremy looks like he was playing the flute in a traditional 4th of July marching band... but really he was just eating the paper horn.
Are you ready Julia?
Olivia gets into the parade.
Julia gives the horn a loud toot!
Here the kids come... into the offices!
Seeing a parade certainly breaks up the work-day!
Ben has all his gear
ready to go.
Adah, Sarah, and Wendel watch the fun.
Olivia liked the horn!
Philip got to participate, with the help of one of our visitors.
Sarah running with her flag.
Savannah played the
horn the loudest of all.
