July is a busy birthday month. We have three babies who turned one (Addison, William, and Annie), and Camille turned two! After the birthday party, one of our interns gave the children impromptu violin "lessons." It was great fun, and all the kids had a very happy birthday.

It's hard to believe, but little Addison turned 1!
Camille was the big girl of the day, but she did not want any cake. Instead, she ate a lot of Lychees.
William liked the cake,
but not the crown.
Is this cake for me?
It's Addison's turn to make a wish.
She gets a little help blowing out the candle from Abigail.
William was a little
scared of the flame.
Annie's ready to blow out the candle when it is her turn.
You can look; just don't touch!
Annie's face is covered with frosting, a "First Birthday" tradition in China.
Addison likes the sweet taste...
...not as much as William, though! He really knows how to eat!
Cheryl gets her piece of cake.
Sarah finishes her cake.
Can you fit all of that in your mouth at once, Olivia?
Adrian, let's see you
take one more bite!
Luke, Ben, and Brett; three cute boys in a row.
Abigail figures out a more efficient way to eat cake.
It is music time!
Beka teaches Ben
how to play the violin.
Abigail makes some music.
You've got it, Emily!
Brett uses the bow as a saw.
Beka shows Jeremy
how the bow makes music.
You've got it, Jeremy!
Cheryl's turn to try!
Brett holds the violin under his chin.
Luke loves music.
Jeremy likes playing it!
Wendel and Beka play for a few minutes.
Ben seems to have
the hang of it!
Cheryl, you look like a violin virtuoso!
