Among the many things that grow around our village, the farmers grow peanuts! We thought our kids needed a lesson in where peanuts come from, so we thought a little outing was in order.

On our way to one of our nanny's homes
where we can watch them work with the peanut plants.
A pile of plants
in front of their home.
They had already pulled the peanut plants from the field.
And then the kids all got to pick the peanuts off the bottom of the plants.
Cheryl and Jeremy check out her home.
Cheryl found a seat and got right down to business... gathering up a large bunch of plants and pulling the peanuts off one by one.
Brett sat in the middle of the plants and made big piles.
Jeremy picked a peanut. Always thinking about his stomach, Jeremy wondered, "Can we eat these now?!?"
Leah knew exactly what to do!
Maybe she can go back and help some more, soon!
Abigail pulled the peanuts off her plants.
Jeremy looks for more plants.
Emily searches for peanuts forgotten on the ground.
Brett takes a break from the hard work to eat an apple.
There are lots of peanut plants!
Everyone needed a break for apples... too much work wearies the soul.
Olivia, Abigail, and Seth cuddle with Sarah, our preschool teacher.
What are you thinking about, Brett?
Olivia has the bag of peanuts that we managed to pick. Now we get to try raw peanuts once we get home.
Cheryl with a mouthful of apple.
Arwen and Fran are two of our summer interns. They are from the UK, and they've been great. The picture in the middle was taken by Leah, as you can see to the left. She's a good photographer, don't you think?
Arwen hugging Luke and Leah, all bundled up in their raincoats.
Cheryl, Jeremy, and Luke get ready to leave. While we were visiting, it started raining very hard, so everyone had to get covered before we left.
Goodbye! Thank you for inviting us to your home! Now it is time to go back to ours.
