A dental team from Australia came to the foster home to provide training and dental care to all of our cares. The funny thing is, they also brought candy! Most of our kids did pretty well in the dentist's chair, but a few didn't like it one bit. However, everyone's teeth are in much better shape now, and a few even had cavities filled.

We started with a training for the foster families and nannies, explaining how to properly brush and floss children's teeth.
Philip and Aaron wait with their foster home for their checkups.
Chris and his mom
wait for their turn.
Jack waited patiently
outside the door.
Lillian is walking so well now! She's at such a cute age.
Adah played soccer
with the boys.
Madeline practices taking steps... it won't be long until she's hard to slow down!
Philip and Aaron share
some brotherly love.
Camille and Jack are
bundled up and in their
bike for the ride home.
Carrie and Julia have some fun while Julia waits her turn.
Joseph loves playing ball!
He was willing to play with anyone who took the time!
Trey is growing up, isn't he?
Aaron
Evan
Evan loved the little scooter. He could really make it go!
Mya and Wendel are busy as always!
Cole takes a turn
driving the scooter.
Cole gives Felicity a ride.
Annie gets her first dental checkup.
Mya looks a little nervous!
Cole opens his mouth
to have his teeth flossed.
Madeline has her mouth firmly closed... she doesn't really want her teeth checked!
Evan looks at the dentist quite seriously... maybe it is the funny mask?
Felicity looks like such a big girl sitting on the chair!
Olivia was a little nervous, but she was such a big girl!
Camille's turn in the
dentist's chair went smoothly!
Julia didn't complain one bit! She opened wide and let them look at all her teeth without acting the least bit scared.
Do you think Jeremy
wanted to go?
He was definitely not happy about his turn in the chair.
We tried to let him play with the mirror to help him get used to the process, but he wasn't interested. He was glad when it was over!
Leah was a little bit nervous at first, but she wanted everyone to know what a big girl she was, so it didn't take long for her to get used to the process.
Brett cried the whole time; everyone was glad when
his exam was finished!
Faith's exam went very well. She is such a happy little girl, and this didn't affect her a bit.
Cheryl wasn't scared a bit! In fact, she hopped up in the chair, opened her mouth before she was even asked to do so, and then told the dentists, "Please be gentle!" She was an excellent patient!
Abigail didn't want to go on her own, so she sat on a volunteer's lap for her examination.
Though she's tiny, Addison has teeth! She might have been our smallest patient!
Emily is definitely a brave little girl, and she makes an excellent patient!
And what does every child deserve after a visit to the dentist? Chocolate, of course! Brought to China by the dentists themselves, and donated by someone from their home church.
No matter how much the children disliked the dental exam, all their bad memories faded with a big bar of chocolate! It really does make everything better!
Sticky fingers, happy mouths.
