Though it wasn't spooky, it sure was fun! For Halloween, the children helped carve a pumpkin and had their faces painted! We also roasted pumpkin seeds that the children collected from the inside of the pumpkin. And, we all know they probably ate a bit more candy than usual!! But isn't that what it's all about?!

Everyone watches as their teacher prepares the activity.
We had a very small
pumpkin to show the kids what a jack-o-lantern looks like.
Adah, Luke and Leah carefully consider the tiny pumpkin.
Everyone watched as Sarah cut the top of the pumpkin.
Everyone got a turn to
scoop out the insides!
Abigail and Emily take a big spoonful.
Julia and Olivia scrape the sides.
Adah and Luke liked getting their hands in the gooey pumpkin!
Cheryl puts her scoop carefully on the tray.
Leah worked at separating the seeds from the pumpkin so that they could be roasted later.
Everyone drew on the pumpkin to help create the pattern to cut.

Jeremy
After Sarah cut out the eyes, nose, and smile, the children were excited to see her put a candle inside the pumpkin.
Jeremy helped put
the top back on!
And then everyone enjoyed their beautiful, glowing pumpkin.
You know how our kids like to eat, right? Well, everyone thought it would be fun to try fresh pumpkin.
That's a big bite, Jeremy!
Cheryl and Abigail eat from two different sides.
Do you like it, Abigail?
Jeremy pretends to cut up another orange vegetable... maybe he's pretending it is pumpkin!
Julia sits still while her face is transformed.
Olivia had Casper on her cheek!
Luke wanted to be a cat!
