A wise teacher yearns beyond the small world of a classroom to create for her students an occasion to discover mystery and meaning. Coming to China to serve others makes that possibility considerably more likely. Serving as English teachers or as care-givers to special needs infants and toddlers at New Day, the excitement is palpable. In a place where few syllables sound familiar, hearts transcend all barriers.

The New Day Experience

Caring for the elderly touches the lives in a very special, profound way. Elderly people are sometimes the most neglected and forgotten members of society. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to visit them and offer a caring hand.

There is an elderly home with over 70 residents located close to New Day, with about 11 individuals who are very poor and living on government assistance. You can join us on our monthly visit to celebrate birthdays with these residents. Many of our interns and volunteers ask for opportunities to spend more time at the elderly home, and we are happy to arrange for you to serve and be a blessing in that area.
