A wise teacher yearns beyond the small world of a classroom to create for her students an occasion to discover mystery and meaning. Coming to China to serve others makes that possibility considerably more likely. Serving as English teachers or as care-givers to special needs infants and toddlers at New Day, the excitement is palpable. In a place where few syllables sound familiar, hearts transcend all barriers.

Individuals and groups with medical training can be a tremendous blessing to New Day. Your volunteer work would vary, based on your level of knowledge and experience in your field of health and your fluency in the language. Here is just a sampling of some of the medical-related areas in which people can serve:

Physical therapy sessions with the children in our foster home
Assisting the medical staff in the foster home
Health, CPR and first aid classes for the nannies and foster parents
Dental clinics for our foster home children, staff, or local villagers
Health and nutrition classes for our English school
